About Michelle M. Dorsey, DMD, MAGD:
Dr. Michelle M. Dorsey was born in Providence, Rhode Island and moved to Pompano Beach, Florida at the age of eight. She attended Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and recived her undergraduate degree in Chemistry form the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida.
Dr. Dorsey earned her Doctorate in Dental Medicine from Tuft's University of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massechusetts in 1991. After graduating from Tuft's University, Dr. Dorsey completed her General Practice Residency in the Oral and Maxillofacial Department at Jackson Memorial Hospital and the University of Miami in Miami, Florida.
Dr. Dorsey is on staff at Cape Canaveral Hospital, Cocoa Beach where she performs Hospital Dentistry in the operating room for patients who require general anesthesia for dental procedures
Dr. Dorsey also earned her Florida State Certificate and License for Parenteral Conscious Sedation. This certificate and license enables Dr. Dorsey to perform treatment on patients who suffer from dental anxiety under IV Conscious Sedation in her office setting.
In 2005, after completing the extensive requirements and Continuing Education credits, Dr. Dorsey earned her "Fellowship" in the Academy of General Dentists (FAGD).
During 2007 and 2008, Dr. Dorsey completed a series of classes at the Dawson Center in St.Petersberg, Florida regarding the study of the Science of Occlusion and extensive TMD and TMJ research. Because of this advanced training, she is able to successfully diagnose and treat TMD and TMJ issues.
In 2008 Dr. Dorsey completed an extensive twenty-five month program through the University of Florida Dental School, Gainesville, Florida to receive her "Mastership" in the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD). This elite Mastership program through the University of Florida is the only one of its kind and includes over 1000 hours of continuing education and "hands on" training in the latest research and evidensed-based dentistry.
